This volume is A Compilation of selected papers presented and contributed by Indian and Foreign authors at the International Symposium held during November 1998 at Department of Biological Science, Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur. The theme of the symposium was "Microbial Biotechnology for Sustainable Development and Productivity'. This symposium was intended to provide a platform for microbiologists and biotechnologists for discussing and reviewing the emerging trends in microbial biotechnology in view of global perspectives, for its application in agriculture, industry, Environment and health.
