Features

• The field of hate crimes has changed fairly rapidly. This text will incorporate the most recent legal aspects (laws and court cases), as well as the most recent social science research.
• A challenge in teaching this course is that students may lack familiarity with the literature from disciplines other than their own. This book will deal with this problem by combining information from a variety of sources into a single format which will be easily understood by all students.
• Unlike most edited collections that do exist on specific topics related to hate crimes, this book will be multidisciplinary in scope, and each selection will be prefaced with an introduction and followed by discussion questions and a "further resources" section.
• Designed to also be a complementary reader for Phyllis Gerstenfeld’s Hate Crimes to be published by Sage in late June or early July 2003.
